Since April 2016, Dave is Managing Director of CDPQ's Singapore office with a mandate to develop and maintain strong relationships with private and governmental key stakeholders in China and South East Asia. As head of private equity for the Asia-Pacific region, Dave leads the deal teams with regards to the origination, execution and monitoring of transactions. He will also assist the different investment teams (i.e. Infrastructure, funds and real estate) in the selection of fund management firms and partners in the local/regional markets.
From 2013 to March 2016, Dave led the risk function for a 25.0B$ Private Equity and 14.0B$ Infrastructure portfolio. His role was to identify, analyse and monitor important risks to minimize permanent capital loss. He was a voting member of both the Private Equity and
Infrastructure Investment Committees and acted as an advisor to the Investment-Risk Committee, which is responsible for decision making on CDPQ's overall strategy, strategies of the various portfolios and the most important investments.
Previously, Dave was Head of the Office of Investments of McGill University from 2009 to 2013 which provides oversight and management of McGill University Pension Plan and Endowment Fund. He was responsible for the formulation and implementation of long-term investment
strategies, selection and monitoring of fund managers, and ongoing management of risk and performance. He also ensured that the Pension Investment Committee was supported and advised at the highest level.
From 1998 to 2009, Dave was part of the Private Equity group of CDPQ. Based in the Paris office of CDPQ from 2001 to 2005, Dave was responsible for the origination, deal execution, value creation and exit strategy of the TMT investments in North America, Europe and Asia. Dave
acted as a Board Director and member of audit committee of many Portfolio companies. Dave graduated in Civil Engineering from Laval University and obtained an MBA from HEC in Montreal. He also holds the CFA and FRM designations.
